Through our work in Doing IT Better, we've found that many Community Service Organisations have questions about how to make technology work better for them. This is the beginning of a collection of resources, designed to assist those who are looking to do IT better.
We’ve answered a number of common questions that Community Service Organisations have about technology; how to use it effectively and how to manage its use in an organisation. The answers are fairly short, and link off into longer articles if you want to know more. If there’s a question you have that isn’t answered here, please let us know!
We’re assembling a storehouse of useful resources – articles, video, audio – about technology, with a distinct Community Service feel to them. We’ve created some ourselves, others we’ve found on the net, and still others have been contributed by our community. Please tell us if there’s a topic you’d like to see us cover or if you have something you’d like to contribute.
We're working on putting together a comprehensive directory of ICT service providers. In the meantime, resources can be found on the following websites:
Doing IT Better is a social justice initiative of the Centre for Community Networking Research (Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University) and the Victorian Council of Social Service, generously funded by a foundation.
